In its effort to reduce total fertilizer inputs, reduce customer costs and our industry's footprint on the environment, Florikan has developed proprietary fertilizer blending and coating technologies which perform at the highest levels in varying climate conditions. Our Nutricote Controlled Release Fertilizer is manufactured by coating nitrate compound fertilizers with a special resin. When Nutricote is applied to the soil, the water in the soil enters the granule through the passageways and dissolves the nutrients. We achieve this through the application of our patented fertilizer technology called Flori-Kote. At a precise point in the coating process a predetermined amount of a second polymer is added resulting in a catalytic reaction between the two polymers. The addition of the second polymer is what controls the release of the nutrients by reverse osmosis. By adjusting the amount of the second polymer, Flori-Kote controls the release of the fertilizer in months.
