Working in conjunction with the Community Day School we are proud to have made an impact post-Irma in the lives of horticulture workers in rural Collier county. The horticulture business is part of the backbone that is Florikan. Part of our core behaviors that guide our decision making are loyalty and stewardship. We received information that American Farms, a grower in Naples needed immediate assistance for its workforce dealing with the aftermath of Irma. So, it was our duty to find a way to act.
With the organizational power of the Day School and our resources, coordinated through our founder, Ed Rosenthal we made a relief convoy happen. On September 21st, the convoy pulled in and everyone pulled together.
American Farms has made an amazing turnaround since then. We are glad to see the entire horticulture industry in the state of Florida make a quicker recovery from Irma then was expected. Thanks, in part to the generosity and respect of many within our industry.
Florikan is proud to be helping growers “Find a Better Way” since 1981.
